Why is drug testing required of athletes, but not entertainers? Why is it required of bus drivers, but not airline pilots? And why is drug and alcohol testing required for most jobs dealing with the general public, but not of our public officials?
Only substance abuse, mental illness, or brain damage could explain how this country went from the being richest nation in the world to the brokest country in the world. Republicrats or Democans, progressives or conservatives; all parties are equally culpable. If this is what we get from the "best and the brightest" in our present educational, religious, and legal culture, then perhaps all those institutions need to be scrapped.
"Believing" in Democracy is akin to believing in Santa Claus. There is not one scintilla of evidence to support the theory that our elected representatives serve the people. The last one to do that was Franklin D. Roosevelt. What you see is what you get. And what I have seen just this year is the banks and insurance companies steal a trillion dollars from the U.S. Treasury, i.e. you and me. I have seen an expansion of militarism, despite a Democrat controlled Congress and President. And I have seen a continued denial by all of the fact that there will never be enough "jobs" for everyone to live even an upper-lower class lifestyle. We are still whistling past the graveyard on the road to nowhere.....
health care reform: more taxpayers money for the insurance/banking cabal, bio-tech firms, and Big Pharma
energy independence: reliance on fossil fuels.
enemy combatant: anyone "authorities" or "we" decide to brand with that name. this could mean YOU.....
Am I the only person on Earth who saw and heard Barack Obama flip the script from health care reform to health insurance reform? Or is that what this has been about all along? What I heard last night sounded nothing like "health care for all." It sounded more like "more money goes to the insurance industry, one way or another."
May the Saints preserve us.....
"There is no such thing as "failure."
If there were, we wouldn't be seeing
